For me, the 2007-2008 Infiniti G35S sedan has always hit that automotive "sweet spot". It's practical, but still very sporty. It gets half decent fuel economy, but makes no real performance sacrifices to get it. And of course, it's completely affordable because it's not a real status symbol and not as sought after as the later models with bigger engines. One day, one day...

Except it looks like a melted bar of soap.

And it's a Skyline, which pretty much 'splains it.

They got a bit too melty with that generation for my liking, but they're indeed good cars. I wish they had done more with updating the original, more angular shape.
Pretty reasonably priced the, too. The Q50 seems to have escalated that a good deal.

I very nearly bought a 2011 G37S 6MT sedan a year and a half ago. It's a very nice car, and I'm sure it would have served me well for many years. If I was a more rational man, it would probably be in my garage right now. But then I test drove an E90 M3, and I was ruined. The noise! The feels ! Had to have it. Made it mine. No regrets.
Word to the wise: if it's not within your realm of possibilities to buy (and fuel and maintain and insure) an E9x M3, don't drive one...

Nice styling, decent interior, good handling, but that gravely Nissan V6 that never feels happy doing what you ask. That's the Achilles' heel.

I love the g series in general. They are a very good looking car. When it comes to modifying, and tuning, the g35 body style looks better. But the G37 doesn't have that look. It has more of a classy look. If I had a 37, all of the money would be spent under the hood.

I had a black 2007 6spd G35S sedan and loved loved loved it. Got it new and traded a Focus sedan, an older 350Z and a got it and a slightly higher payment. It was the perfect hybrid of the two, but better in a lot of ways. It felt huge inside, like more 5 series than 3 series but cost was closer to the 3. Good fit and finish and that VQ hummed. Plus 300+ hp and RWD is always the right answer.
Beat dealership experience ever. Got trade I'm estimates for both cars, negotiated, did a credit app all via email. Big win. Just showed up and signed.

Very nearly bought one over my E90 328i. Nice cars, wouldn't have minded owning one but the dealer didn't want to negotiate

That sounds awesome. Why'd you get rid of it if you don't mind me askin?

I feel like the newer ones with the higher revving engines are much more willing and able.

I prefer the look of the first gen for the coupe, but think the second gen sedan is head and shoulders above the first.

My parents have an '08 G35s sedan and an 09 328i. They both love their cars.

I love the look of the earlier G35 but I've heard word that the 37x coupe could be had with a manual.
If I could get the later drivetrain into that earlier car I would be all over that.

They've never offered the 37x with anything other than a 7AT. You were lied to :\

That's disappointing, but such are things you hear on the internet that have no source.
